Booking & Payment

  • Prepayment is required at the time of booking. This is to reduce the number of no-shows and late cancellations. Last minute cancellations and no-shows severely impact the business by blocking appointment times for other customers.

  • If you are unwilling to pay while booking please call 03 365 0449 to make a booking over the phone. A deposit may be requested to hold your booking slot.

  • Changing the time & date or cancelling your appointment is generally not accepted within 24 hours of your appointment time. In exceptional circumstances this may be considered by contacting hello@thewofshop.co.nz. However, The WOF Shop management reserve the right to decline any requests.

  • Please ensure you arrive with plenty of time to spare. Our mechanics will be ready to begin working on your vehicle right at the beginning of your appointment time. We suggest arriving at least ten minutes early so you have time to park and check in with reception. If you’re more than five minutes late we may cancel your appointment as we can’t ensure we would be ready for the next appointment in time. We are unlikely to refund you if we cancel your appointment due to being late. If there are any exceptional circumstances, send an email to hello@thewofshop.co.nz and somebody will get in touch.

  • Your vehicle must be in a state ready for inspection. Obviously dangerous vehicles will not be inspected, this includes items being in a vehicle that could be a health and safety hazard to the employees of The WOF Shop. Examples include offensive weapons, needles & drug paraphernalia, animals and excess rubbish.

General Terms

  • All inspections are based on visual examinations and physical testing when appropriate. In general, vehicle components are not dismantled for an inspection but are inspected by listening to, feeling performance on the road or measured with specialized equipment.

  • Vehicle inspections give a ‘snapshot in time’ report which reflects the vehicles presentation at the time of inspection. Once the vehicle has left our workshop there may be changes to the vehicles presentation which can be caused by wear and tear, driver negligence, damage or other deterioration.

  • Vehicle inspections will not tell you about hidden defects, intermittent problems., problems that appear after the inspection or problems that can only be seen when parts have been dismantled.

  • Any road testing of a vehicle is done in a 50kmh area.

  • Pre-Purchase reports are only provided to the person named on the report and The WOF Shop is not bound to provide any reports to a third party. However, in the event of a critical safety issue The WOF Shop may reserve the right to disclose any reports to a third party.

WOF & COF

  • A Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and Certificate of Fitness (COF) is a mechanical check of your vehicle to ensure it’s up to scratch to be on the road. We take our responsibilities seriously and we will not issue a WOF or COF to a vehicle that does not meet the standards set by the New Zealand Transport Agency.

  • The WOF Shop operates a zero tolerance policy towards abusive or threatening behavior towards staff or other customers. The workshop, office and carpark is under 24/7 CCTV monitoring which includes both audio and visual recording. If you abuse or threaten staff or other customers you will be asked to leave and any footage will be provided to the police.

  • If you are unhappy with the outcome of your WOF/COF inspection, you can raise a dispute by sending an email to hello@thewofshop.co.nz or making a call to 03 365 0449.
